Drug Testing

Analytical testing for alleged drug use is our society’s best new method to help mitigate against the long standing human problem of drug use. Urine drug testing is by far the most practical medium to test yet it has many imperfections.

The requirement for a certain level of collection privacy allows for the possibility of dilution or adulteration.
 

Much work has been done to develop alternates to urine. Specifically blood, saliva, breath, sweat and hair have been extensively studied for use in drug testing. Currently, aside from urine, only breath testing (for alcohol) and hair testing (for illegal drugs) are used routinely.
